Meet The Charmed Ones
Throughout the series, there are four main female characters in the Halliwell family. The first three seasons feature Prue, Piper, and Phoebe. After Prue dies at the end of season three, the fourth sister, Paige, appears in order to reconstitue the Charmed Ones and continue the series until its conclusion at the end of the eigth season.

Prue is the oldest sister and appears in the series from Seasons One to Three. Her powers throughout the series are telekinisis and astral projection.
Paige Matthews is the youngest sister. She is actually the Halliwell's half-sister, having been the result of a relationship their mom had with her whitelighter, or guarian angel. She is in the series from Season Four to Season Eight. Her powers are telekinisis and orbing (the ability to transport from one place to another using orbs of white lights).
Piper starts as the middle sister and becomes the oldest sister when Paige arrives after Prue's death. She is present throughout the series. Her powers are to freeze time and to blow up objects using her hands.
Phoebe starts as the youngest sister and becomes the middle sister. Like Piper, she is present throughout the series. Her powers for most of the series are premonitions, levitation and empathy. However, in one of the later seasons she loses these active powers because of misuse, and must prove herself worthy of gaining them back. She gains back the power of premonition.
